    A Life Time Story - Orchids and Roses on Wood Tray with A Weaving Basket (2021) By HSIN LIN Artist Acrylic gallery wrapped canvas. Ready to hang 76.2 (W) x 121.9 cm (H) x 3.5 cm (D) Affirmation: Show appreciation and love and the rest shall come to you. In this particular painting, the delicate, exotic orchid represents love, luxury, beauty, and strength. In ancient Greece, orchids were associated with virility. Pink roses are symbolic of gratitude and appreciation. Flowers represent us as humans, the wood tray and vases as the body carrying our soul and physical body, protecting us as a shield in the natural order. The weaving basket stands for connections, the connection between families, friends, all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole, stronger together. Every passenger in our life, every stranger, people who are meant to cross our path for a reason, plays an irreplaceable role in this lifetime story. By the time I have this artwork completed, I decided to name this artwork - A Life Time Story, which is an extension from my previous award-winning artwork – A Life Time Journey, A Life time blessing, and A Life Time Love. The messages that I wanted to deliver to the viewer are the vitality and endless possibilities, the greater love that I experienced during my art process, and from mother nature.     A warm welcome to my new friends & hello to old friends. How are you today? No matter where you are I hope you are safe, happy, and well. I am back with my 1st studio blog update of August! ❤️ If you love my Eucalyptus Macrocarpa painting that was inspired by the gum tree I spotted at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, I am sure you would love this latest artwork of mine too. This artwork was inspired by my visit to Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this particular Eucalyptus macrocarpa tree in full bloom in the flowering season. I love the details on those large ovate grey leaves and the earthy tone on the plant. However, what fascinated me the most was the center of this blossom appears to be a magical heart shape in such a coincidence. The flower of love blooms in the colour of love. I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like flowers. Eucalyptus Macrocarpa (Mottlecah), a sprawling mallee endemic to Western Australia. Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection. The flower always blooms in its own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine.     The upcoming project is going to be exciting! So, a while ago my best friend aka my best photographer paid a visit to my studio. I decided to pick one of my best dresses to go along with this artwork while I can. After all, this beauty had stayed on my easel for 6 months and I think it deserved the best don’t you think?     Hello beautiful people! Hope you are well. July update from my studio- a sneak peek of my current public art project. While I am having my 250th painting progressing in the studio, I am pleased and humbled to be notified that this artwork of mine- Capturing Freedom - is chosen by Maroondah City Council signal boxes public art project - Celebrating local cultural vibrancy, on July 2021. It will be printed as a vinyl wrap adhered to signal boxes on the site - corner Eastfield Road and Bayswater Road, adjoining Cheong Park, Box number 626. If you are around the area, make sure to keep an eye for a signal box in vibrant colour! Painting this artwork gave me such a good vibe and I couldn’t wait to see it alive on the local public art project really! Side panel painted Black Acrylic painting on gesso primed Acid-free canvas As many of you may know I don’t paint birds very often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. Pink Cockatoos / Major Mitchell's Cockatoo is hard to miss, with their pink coloring and distinctive red and white crest. These friendly, playful, highly social birds represent inner influence, balance, joy, abundance. I often see pink cockatoos having launch under the winter sun in the park peacefully or fly up to the branches in a flock playfully. It’s one of my favourite scenes to enjoy. This artwork is also painted during the lockdown in Victoria as we are having it again. A special isolation diary that I wrote with my paintbrushes. I would like to share the concept behind this piece if you have a bit of time. I started this artwork around February. It’s been a long journey, sunny days and rainy days. Long working hours required determination and faith to be achieved. I spent almost every day studying those intricate compositions and fine details. The process wasn’t an easy task but It’s a challenge that I enjoyed, and I happy to say I finally have it completed in May. By the time I have this artwork completed, I decided to name this artwork - A Life Time Story, which is an extension from my previous award-winning artwork – A Life Time Journey, A Lifetime blessing, and A Life Time Love. This artwork is inspired by a graceful floral arrangement that I spotted in the local nursery. However, the side story- If you look close enough, you may notice from the details that there is something different from my usual approach. In fact, these gorgeous blooms were referenced from artificial/ Man-made flowers. Due to the restriction in the covid era, that was somehow the best that I could get at that time. I decided to be true to myself and to the time we live in, so I painted those as it is, kept the real details and let the viewer know the true story behind the scene. Because we are all part of this story, and the story goes on. We write our story individually, meanwhiles, together as a whole. It is also a reminder of the special time that we come through. Our body kept us strong, alive, and healed, the heroes who keep the world moving. I sincerely hope you enjoy this artwork. If you are familiar with my work, you may already know every year I spent several months studying one single object in my signature series - Bloom like flowers. This new variety of rose – Frutteto, is a light pink rose with light green exterior petals. The colour pink is often associated with appreciation, perfection and happiness. Pink elicits feelings of warmth, femininity, and love. From all the colours, green symbolizes nature and the natural world. It is often thought to represent tranquillity, good luck, and health. As for white, for me, white has all the possibilities. Bridal white, white canvas, a page of blank diary, and all the different colours enchanted on pure white petals with sunlight dance on it. Then I stared to work on more detailed and bigger piece, at the same time, focusing on developing skills and my own style, which is a challenge that I set for myself from time to time, and a challenge I enjoyed with no doubt. I am grateful and beyond humbled that I have the love and support from my collectors and gallery since I started. Ｗhat is even better is I get to know a little bit more about how the artwork plays an important role in their life. Gradually, Art is no longer a one-man journey to me when I started to get lovely feed backs from collectors round the world, sharing their joyful experience and inspirations from my artworks. My daily painting routine normally start from this stage – Meditating in front of the artwork, sometimes with a cup of earl grey in my hand. By Meditating I mean planning and thinking about how I want to do it before the paint brushes touch the canvas, with a clear mind. Like the inflorescence, like how the leave vines expended. How I shall proceed further, like the nature order – everything has its own order, everything falls into the right place in the right time. This short period of time is so important and I love every minute of it.     Hello beautiful people! Good day! After a very productive (and long) day in studio, I think I am gonna call it a day. I Just want to share something different with you today. So, I am the kind of person who keep their tool for a REALLY long time. One of my all-time favourites is a sable brush that my mother gifted me when I was young. I cherished it and I still use it almost daily. It works perfectly just like an extension of my body. Sometimes I couldn’t believe that I owned that brush for more than 20 years. (The quality hey!) Even the shaft of a brush is now curved after so many years, the rest of it is still good. The brand name on these are long gone due to used & cleaned countlessly time over the years. This artwork is inspired by a gorgeous Peony gifted by the lovely gallery owner when I visited Art at Linden Gate at Yarra Valley . The Flowers were in full bloom under the sun, in a tranquil afternoon. I adore peony, therefore this gorgeous bush caught my eye immediately . I was obsessed by the beauty of it so much , so I froze the magical moment in this painting. A delightful experience to paint a painting using one single colour tube. So much possibility that you can achieve in one tube. Life can be that simple, so does joy. Peony is a symbol of prosperity and peace, especially when displayed in full bloom.
