How are you today? No matter where you are, I hope you are safe, happy, and well. I am back with my latest blog post and updates of December 2021! {Back from exhibition, original artwork released, virtual on line exhibition with knox Immerse is ON !｝ Hsin Lin – Blossoms of Life Imagine a lifetime is a flower blooming. As with our individual identities, each flower is unique in appearance, blooming during different seasons and life stages. FEELS LIKE HOME - Silver Banksia (2019) By HSIN LIN 70 x 50 cm Acrylic on Acid free Gesso primed Canvas Ready to hang Side panel painted: Black Metallic Gold paint are used . It actually shines beautifully when you look at the physical painting. Affirmation - You have nothing to lose, you have nothing to be afraid of , this is the place where you start. Banksia marginata, also known as Silver Banksia, Australian evergreen shrubs of the protea family. Its natural occurrence is throughout from South Australia, Victoria and eastern New South Wales and Tasmania. Some forms have a lignotuber, which is a woody swelling at the stem base that regenerates after fire. All banksias produce copious nectar and are ideal for attracting wildlife into gardens. Seeds are also eaten by cockatoos, particularly the Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo. Artwork inspired by nature at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria, Cranbourne, Autumn, 2019.     Hsin Lin – Blossoms of LifeImagine a lifetime is a flower blooming. As with our individual identities, each flower is unique in appearance, blooming during different seasons and life stages. Blossoms Of Life is an extension of Hsin Lin’s ongoing, award-winning series of acrylic paintings that feature native and common flowers. In Lin’s paintings, flowers represent life. Each different type of flower has a unique symbolic meaning. Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, reminds us that we are alive, vibrant and blossoming. Location – The Basin Art Hub. Side panel painted Black Acrylic painting on gesso primed Acid free canvas “The only real prison is fear, and the only real freedom is freedom from fear.” - Aung San Suu Kyi As many of you may know I don’t paint birds very often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of open woodland near my studio. The grassland is always my favourite playground, especially during the lockdown. I often accompanied by varies local birds such as cockatoos, magpies, colourful rosellas, lorikeets and kookaburras during the walk. Pink Cockatoos / Major Mitchell's Cockatoo are hard to miss, with their pink colouring and distinctive red and white crest. These friendly, playful, highly social birds represent inner influence, balance, joy, abundance. I often see pink cockatoos having launch under the winter sun peacefully or fly up to the branches in flock playfully. It’s one of my favourite scenes to enjoy. I captured the magical scene with my eyes, froze the moment with my paint brushes and canvas, worked on it for quite sometimes in my studio. This artwork is also painted during the lock down in Victoria 2021. A special isolation diary that I wrote with my paint brushes. Hope you enjoy this original artwork of mine. This artwork was inspired by my visit to Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne. I was drawn immediately to this particular Eucalyptus macrocarpa tree in full bloom in the flowering season. I love the details on those large ovate grey leaves and the earthy tone on the plant. The rough surface on the gum nuts and the smooth silky texture on the flowers, display of greatest strength of life. I present you the latest piece from my award-winning/signature series -Bloom like flowers. Eucalyptus Macrocarpa (Mottlecah), a sprawling mallee endemic to Western Australia. Eucalyptus flowers also have the symbolic meaning of Healing and Protection. The flower always blooms in its own time without competing with other flowers. Geraldton wax (Chamelaucium uncinatum) is also a beautiful flowering Australian native shrub. The flowers have a sweet, honey fragrance, ooze nectar and are highly attractive to bees. Sealed with clear varnish. 76 cm (H) x 51 (W) x 3cm (D) Affirmation: Listen with your heart, speak with love. To experience the changing of the seasons and to present moments, it has become a routine of mine to paint the first bloom in my surrounding during its flowering season. This artwork is inspired by the Passion Vine that I spotted in my neighborhood closed to my art studio. I was fascinated by those interesting fringed petals and splendorous tendrils; the white petals shine bright like precious gems under the sunshine. Fun Fact of these unusual blossoms - Passion Flower Essence is used to purify and strengthen one’s connection to unconditional love even nowadays. A Truly Special and Symbolic Gift- Passion Flower, was named by Roman Catholic priests In the 15th and 16th centuries for the Passion of Jesus Christ. There were old sayings that the flower's five petals and five petallike sepals represented the 10 faithful apostles. As for the circle of filaments in the center of the bloomsome, stands for the Crown of Thorns. This artwork is painted during the lockdown, a special isolation diary that I wrote with my paintbrushes. Flowers always bloom in their own time without competing with other flowers. May we all bloom in our time in the best season. Hope you enjoy this artwork of mine. -Bloom like flowers - In this signature series of mine, flowers as the object represent life itself to me. Our own will to be alive, and the way we want to be alive. While I carefully paint these tiny flower petals or built up those fine leaves’ vines, it is like the way we try to figure out those uncertainties, furthermore, to be able to be closer to the truth a little bit more. When the world turns upside down, cherish the people who love you, most important of all, remember to give yourself a life time love. By the time I have this artwork completed, I decided to name this artwork - A Life Time Love, which is also an extension from my previous artwork – A Life Time Journey, A Life time blessing, and Have Faith in A Sunny Place. Because the world might change all of a sudden, but love keeps us grounded. This is also a reminder to myself- always take care and love yourself first, that’s what makes you stronger. Green Ball Dianthus, also known as Green Trick Dianthus is a unique flower with a fuzzy ball-shaped bloom. Chrysanthemums symbolize deep passion and optimism. Red roses stand for true love and romance The flower of the bird of paradise symbolizes joyfulness and faithfulness.
