About Heidi Frank

  • Biography

Heidi Frank, a freelance artist from Prien am Chiemsee, devotes herself with great passion to expressionist painting. Her predominantly large-scale works radiate an immediate force and spontaneity. For the viewer, there is often the impression of witnessing the very moment of creation—the layers of color and structure appear vividly alive.

Frank works with brush and palette knife on canvas, building her images through applying and removing paint, scratching, distorting, overpainting, and adding new elements. This intensive process gives rise to works that do not fully reveal themselves at first glance, but instead unfold their depth through engaged and attentive viewing.

Her passion for painting circles around the questions and apparent answers that are so complex. All of this can be found reflected in Frank’s paintings, while the viewer, in turn, discovers their own images and answers within them. It is precisely this exchange that fascinates her.

Modernity, dynamism, spontaneity, and strength—these four words aptly characterize her art, while also forming the foundation of a style that is distinctly her own.
