    Sonic Curtain

    Sonic Curtain

This is a public project, back in 2016, where I first applied the idea about hanging coloured beams that can rotate with the wind. As I had written that time: A hybrid entity of op and sound art, Sonic Curtain is an artwork at the edge of engineering, acoustics and architecture. It is a sound – kinetic installation that injects impulsive meditative sounds into the urban space, while new color combinations emerge continuously. In Sonic Curtain the unpredictable forces of natural wind are transformed into a group of chaotic color correlations and percussive sound patterns of about 200 suspended wood beams, which are free to rotate around themselves and strike to each other. The project has inspired me to start a series of works like 'Colours of Nature', 'Fruitful discussion' and so on...

    The rationalization of emotions

Are emotions random or rational? Can love be defined by algorithms? These are some relevant questions for this kinetic artwork, which involves chance and probability. Dice are activated within various totally random phrases. Sometimes, one dice at a time, other times multiple dice together…

    Chance

Six different dice or one dice from different views? That could be a relevant question for this work, which is a tribute to chance and probability. A random dice is activated at random time intervals. It is rotated to a random angle, in a random direction. These too many factors of randomness create a feeling of surprise, expectation, and excitement, while maintaining a sense of meditation, once we realize that many of our experiences in life are just a chain of random events.
