Biography
My work is bold, graphical, and rooted in my lifelong fascination with geometric forms. I find comfort and beauty in the precision and certainty of these shapes. During my time at university, I explored the interaction of individual cubes in animation, syncing sound to their movement. I created electronic drum patterns and synthesised music, carefully crafting soundscapes that complemented the visual rhythm of the animations, creating a world where sound and visuals existed in harmony.
Over time, my paintings and animations have evolved into more intricate, isometric environments—spaces filled with slopes, planes, arches, pillars, and structures. These puzzle-like worlds invite viewers to imagine navigating them, walking, and climbing through their geometric complexity.
My painting process is methodical and precise. Using masking tape, I create sharp, clean lines and smooth, even blocks of colour. This technique allows me to achieve the accuracy I desire while maintaining the boldness of my compositions. The pursuit of "perfection"—a goal that can never be realised—drives me to place every edge and colour block with the utmost care.
While my approach to painting is rigid and exacting, my use of colour offers a contrasting freedom. I experiment with vivid, dynamic palettes, allowing different combinations to evoke a range of moods and feelings. This flexibility in colour introduces a sense of expression that complements the precise structure of my work.
