This was my first purchase through Artfinder, and I ordered a painting by Ewa Czarniecka, assuming it was an original one-of-a-kind piece. Upon receiving it, I immediately noticed that it was a reproduction print, with the edges clearly showing a duplicate of the main image. I contacted Ewa for clarification, and she confirmed that she had been experimenting with giclee prints. When I asked why the piece had not been clearly labeled as a reproduction, I did not receive a further response. To be clear, I have no issue with artists selling reproduction prints, as long as they are clearly described as such. In this case, however, the piece was not even a limited edition, and I have concerns about how many additional prints might be made in the future, as the location of the original painting is unclear. While Artfinder’s return guarantee is a positive aspect, the return process itself was more cumbersome than necessary. Repacking the artwork, printing the required documentation, and adjusting my schedule for an undefined carrier pickup were all added steps that could have been avoided if the description from the artist had been more transparent from the start. This experience has left me disappointed, and I now feel that purchasing art online through platforms like Artfinder can be riskier than viewing the artwork in person. I will likely return to buying from physical galleries and stores, where I can see the artwork firsthand before making a purchase.

Just to clarify the painting was Not a reproduction it was described as Mixed -Media one of kind artwork.Here’s a definition what mixed media actually means ; ‘Mixed media painting involves combining different materials and techniques to create a single artwork. This art form allows artists to experiment with various mediums, such as paint, paper, fabric, found objects, and more. It can be used to create complex and layered visuals. ‘ You didn’t like the painting so I happily accepted the return and you have your refund. I have been Artfinder best seller from the very beginning and in 10 years I never received such an untrue response from any other customer. Customers satisfaction is on the top of my list and I always support my collectors who truly value my work. I will continue working and experimenting with different methods and mediums.

I have few possessions I truly could do without but this beautiful captivating and expressive artwork has instantly become one! My wife and I truly love and can't stop being mesmerised by the scene and enthralled by Eva's unique painting style and mixed media texture!
