About Elina Evstig

  • Biography

Active in the arts since 2012 and working independently as a freelance artist since 2015, I am a self-taught painter whose path began in design and illustration. Now based in Berlin, my practice has been shown in local collective exhibitions as well as a few abroad.

Working primarily in oils with Liquin as a medium, I explore figurative painting infused with elements of abstraction. Women and children appear most often in my portraits—subjects that serve as both a tribute to a turbulent childhood and a reflection of what resonates with me today.

Rather than radical declarations, my paintings take shape as quiet narratives, fragments of a personal visual language. Each work tells a story of perception, memory, and emotion, yet remains open to interpretation. I prefer to offer only delicate descriptions, allowing viewers the freedom to encounter and discover their own meanings within the work.

    Exhibitions and publications:

    2017 Elephants Gallery, Chiangmai, Thailand

2020 Exhibition Feministische Solidarität :: Red Square Festival; Berlin, Germany

2023 Exactly Lab: Artists Embracing New AI, Guelman und Unbekannt Gallery, Berlin, Germany

    2023 Goddesart Magazine, issue11 October-November

2024 Salon de Refusees, Krautart Studio, Berlin, Germany

    2024 BAAM 8, Berlin, Germany

    2025 BAAM 9, Berlin, Germany

2025 Bushy Pony, vol.1, Berlin, Germany
