About Olena Hromova

  • Biography
My name is Elena (Olena) Hromova. I am a professionally trained artist and art restorer, having graduated from an art college and later from an Academy of Design and Fine Arts. For many years restoration was my primary field, but today my focus has fully shifted to painting — something I now practice daily, as an essential and inseparable part of who I am. I am also the mother of four daughters, an experience that has deeply shaped my perception of the world and, consequently, my artistic language. I do not paint children or portraits. Instead, my work is devoted to flowers and light— or rather, to the presence of the sun itself. I am not interested in depicting the sun as an object; I paint what it reveals, transforms, and fills with color and quiet mystery. Light in my works acts as an invisible force, breathing life into form and atmosphere. I primarily work with oil paint, occasionally using dry pastel. I am drawn to large-scale formats, often around one meter on at least one side, although recently I have also begun exploring more intimate, smaller works. Regardless of size, my paintings are united by a strong sense of luminosity, emotional depth, and organic movement. My work is actively exhibited. I have participated in international and group exhibitions in Italy and Ukraine, including Roma Art Week and exhibitions at the European Parliament in Rome. In December 2025, I will hold a solo exhibition in Rome at the gallery Il Laboratorio. In total, I took part in eight group exhibitions during 2025. I am a Ukrainian artist, currently living and working in Rome, Italy, where I have been based for almost four years. My works are represented on platforms such as Saatchi Art and Singulart, with sales to collectors in the United States and France. At this stage of my life, I am fully committed to developing my artistic practice as my main professional path. I am highly motivated to expand my international presence and build sustainable sales that allow me to continue creating new work while supporting my family. I have a constant flow of ideas and inspiration and approach my practice with discipline, seriousness, and long-term dedication. I sincerely hope for a productive collaboration and the opportunity to grow together on Artfinder. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Warm regards,
Elena (Olena) Hromova
