About Camilla Blauenfeldt

  • Biography
I love working with colors, creating different landscapes. I often find my inspiration in patterns; it can be the decoration on a cup or floor, it can be colors used on a fabric, or just everyday things that I come across. Some of my paintings are actual places I have visited, but sometimes a landscape comes to life in my imagination, where I explore different techniques and color combinations. I work mainly with acrylics on canvas, where I often place a figur - it can be humans or animals - cut out from newspapers. The newspaper cuttings give another dimension to the canvas, and they may intrigue the eyes of the viewer. I also work with mixed media, creating smaller pictures on paper. When working on paper, I am much more intuitive. The starting point for a collage can be small pieces of colorful paper from magazines, giftwrapping, old books, newspapers, and the like. Mixing paint, oil pastels, markers, and paper, I create mostly abstract pictures.
