About Bryan Peglow

  • Biography

My name is Bryan Peglow. Art and making art are driving forces in my life and gift me with something priceless, purpose. If seeing my work led you to this page there's a high probability we share a rare and intense connection to the natural world around us. It's no accident you're here. A powerful inspiration of mine in the art world has always been Georgia O'Keefe. I find her work deeply moving. Consuming her imagery gives me a sense of meaning and connection to this world. Early on I didn't understand how a piece of art could cause such an overwhelming emotional response. I wanted that in my life and wanted to provide it for others. I immersed myself into painting professionally as a young man and it became clear rather quickly. Like O'Keefe my focus is presenting the essence and emotion of the natural world. Through color, simplification and lighting my work explores how to translate the impact of objects, nature and daily life through focus on their fundamental form. Not just a literal representation but my personal human equivalent to how I feel about a subject. This is what the work you see here represents.
