About Arinika Stratievsky

  • Biography
Art has been a constant presence throughout my life. I graduated from the Academy of Arts in Europe with a degree in Fashion Design, where I received comprehensive training in academic drawing—from portraiture to the nude—as well as decorative painting grounded in classical techniques. These foundations continue to shape my creative practice. My artistic journey began with painting on silk, one of the world’s oldest art forms. Over time, this early passion grew into the creation of monumental silk works. The complexity and delicacy of this process not only expanded my technical abilities but also deepened my relationship with the medium and the broader art world. Throughout my career, I have exhibited in numerous European galleries, and my work is held in a variety of private collections. For many years, I also worked on commission, creating bespoke pieces tailored to the visions and sensibilities of individual collectors. My path included a meaningful pause as I devoted myself to raising my three children. During this time, I returned to the simplicity of paper and pencil, developing drawing series that offered both solace and renewed inspiration. In recent years, my practice has evolved toward multi-layered painting, a technique that allows me to explore the interplay of light, breath, and space. Each work challenges me to navigate a subtle equilibrium between color and composition. I often spend days refining a single area, as each piece unfolds slowly through an intricate, intuitive process before reaching its final form. Art remains my greatest passion and guiding force—an enduring companion through every stage of my personal and professional life.
