About Andrea Bocedi

  • Biography
I paint to slow things down and to hold on to what is quietly disappearing. My work grows out of observation — of places marked by time, of ordinary landscapes, interiors, roadside shrines, and traces of belief and memory embedded in them. I’m interested in the tension between permanence and decay, between what is sacred, habitual, and forgotten. For me, painting is a way of thinking and remembering rather than producing images. I work traditionally, often directly from observation, allowing imperfection, silence, and restraint to remain part of the image. I’m not chasing trends — I’m looking for honesty, atmosphere, and presence. I want to sell my work on Artfinder because I value a direct connection with viewers and collectors who respond to this slower, contemplative kind of painting. Artfinder feels like a place where work rooted in personal experience and craftsmanship can find the right audience beyond local borders.

    Event: That which remains

    Dates: 14 Mar 2026 - 30 Apr 2026

Venue: Olga Boznanska`s Historical Studio, Cracow, piłsudskiego 21

"That which remains" presents a selection of paintings developed through direct observation and the memory of place. The works range from plein-air studies to studio pieces, combining immediate perception with a more distilled, painterly approach.

Light, space, and atmosphere play a central role. Landscape and architecture are not treated as documentation, but as a starting point — a structure through which experience is translated into paint.

In some works, the landscape shifts towards a more symbolic dimension, becoming a carrier of reflection on transience and the persistence of what is left behind.
