About Alexey Adonin

  • Biography

I paint in oil on canvas to explore the shifting border between abstraction and surrealism. My process usually begins without a fixed plan. I start with spontaneous brushwork, layered textures, and intuitive marks, then gradually refine what appears until a coherent visual world begins to emerge. I enjoy that moment when uncertainty starts turning into something meaningful, atmospheric, and alive.

What interests me most is perception: how emotion, memory, and inner experience can change what we think we see. My paintings often suggest landscapes, organic structures, or dreamlike spaces, but I prefer to leave them open enough for viewers to form their own interpretations. Nature, music, and the mystery of inner life are constant sources of inspiration for me. Through color, texture, and a balance between instinct and control, I try to create works that feel immersive, contemplative, and personally resonant.
