Yellow 1 (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Joe Tuggle Lacina

48 x 60" (unframed) / 48 x 60" (actual image size)

$4,800

These paintings occupy an uncertain threshold between intention and accident. Paint is poured, allowed to drip and settle, then dragged across the surface, so that each layer is partly obscured by the next. What remains is neither fully chosen nor fully given. Informed by Jung's notion of the unconscious and Adler's belief in the self as its own author, the work considers how meaning forms under pressure, through concealment as much as revelation. The colors are bright, yet what they disclose remains unresolved, held in suspension.
