Wise Old Bird (2026) Original Oil Painting by Lola Jovan

Wise Old Bird
oil on canvas
15 x 30 x .75 inches (unframed but ready to hang)

A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird? - ANONYMOUS

In my haste to grow up, I neglected to grow wise. Now, in the last third of my life, I am reaching for that wisdom. To speak less, to listen more, to hear. Perhaps I need only a magnificent cloak to manifest that owlish wisdom?
