Veraniegas (2026) Original Watercolour by jahzeely sinai

30 x 40 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 30 x 40cm (actual image size)

$338.07

The piece presents a fresh, delicate composition in shades of pink, soft green and lavender, inspired by citrus fruit, flowers and summer drinks. The transparency of the watercolour and its organic washes create a light, romantic and contemporary atmosphere, evoking warm Mediterranean afternoons.

The lightest piece in the catalogue, almost entirely pale pinks and bare white paper. On the table sit a glass holding a pink drink, a single stem with a small flower, half a cut fruit and a handful of red berries on a plate.

Nothing has an outline. The objects hold together through differences in intensity: the glass exists because the pink at its centre is stronger than the pink of the background, not because a line draws it. The greens of the cut fruit are the only cool note, and they appear twice, on the left and on the right, to balance the whole.

The background is a succession of pink washes that drip downwards, deliberately left to run. Very little paint and a lot of water, with no retouching afterwards.

Materials used:

Watercolor, heavyweight watercolor paper
