- Venetian Study
Original artwork description
In this small Venetian study, Mher Chatinyan reduces the city to a few architectural forms and sharply contrasted areas of colour. An arcaded building anchors the left side of the composition, while a tall column rises beside the open blue space of the lagoon.
Cool blues, violet and grey are set against terracotta, ochre and cream. The paint is applied freely, with visible ridges and overlapping strokes that give the compact surface unusual depth. Details are abbreviated, yet the arches, water and waterfront architecture make the Venetian setting immediately recognisable.
Measuring just 10 × 13 cm, the work rewards close viewing. It can form a focused accent in a smaller interior or sit naturally among other paintings in a salon-style arrangement.
Materials used:
Oil on cardboard
Details:
- Oil painting on Panel / Board / MDF
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 13 x 10cm (unframed)
- Signed certificate of authenticity
- Style: Impressionistic
- Subject: Architecture and cityscapes
