Towards the Light II is part of my Forest of Unrooted Trees series, which explores family, ancestry, belonging and the connections that shape our sense of identity.
The composition is built from cotton thread, embroidery, canvas and jute. Individual threads are gradually assembled into branching forms and integrated into the textile surface, creating a work that sits between collage, drawing and relief.
The tree-like structures in this series are not intended as literal botanical images. They act as metaphors for roots, family ties and the invisible connections between people and place.
This is a one-of-a-kind original textile collage, signed on the back and ready to hang.
Materials: cotton thread, embroidery, canvas and jute.
