The Vision (2021) Original Oil Painting by Yuko Montgomery

This photorealistic wildlife oil painting celebrates the remarkable character of animals. It is rendered with classical academic oil painting techniques on canvas. A proud falcon stands on the curly forelock of a black cow. Behind the falcon hangs a deep crimson sun, a symbol of life and the universe. Below it, the cow's sweeping horns curve into a crescent-moon shape, so sun and moon frame the two animals in a quiet cosmic balance.

The falcon has a sharp, determined gaze, a dark hooded head, a golden eye-ring and finely speckled white plumage. Falcons belong to the raptors, the birds of prey admired for their speed, power, keen eyesight and hunting skill. They have long symbolized ambition, aspiration, freedom and victory. The cow is its opposite: a gentle, downcast expression and a massive, grounded body that carries the falcon with calm, unshakable strength. Together they balance fierce spirit with steady endurance.

Every feather, glint of the eye, curl of fur and polished horn is painted in fine realist detail against a soft, luminous white background. The minimal palette of black, white and wine red gives the piece a striking, contemporary presence up close and from across the room. It's suited to collectors of bird of prey art, cattle and farm animal paintings, symbolic surrealism and contemporary realism, and statement wall art for a home, office or gallery collection.
