The Thin Line (2026) Original Oil Painting by Ekaterina Smetanina
30 x 40 x 0.1cm / 30 x 40cm (actual image size)
$574.72
Original artwork description
The Thin Line explores the fragile boundary between closeness and separation. Two figures occupy the same space, yet seem divided by an almost imperceptible distance. Their presence suggests a moment of connection that remains uncertain — suspended between approaching and withdrawing.
Through restrained colour, fragmented forms and areas of exposed space, the painting reflects on the subtle shifts that shape human relationships. Rather than describing a specific story, the work leaves this encounter open, allowing the viewer to bring their own experience of intimacy, distance and vulnerability.
