Alienation — The End of Echoes is a monumental abstract figurative painting by Gela Mikava and the concluding work of the Post-Alienation cycle, exploring memory, erasure and the transformation of individual identity into collective remembrance.

At the centre of the composition, a faceless human figure expands into an unstable field of grey, red and white. Its boundaries appear to dissolve into the surrounding space, while faint linear traces of absent faces emerge around it like residual memories. The human body is no longer presented as a fixed identity, but as a fragmented presence caught between disappearance and reconstruction.

The composition becomes an architecture of emotion — a record of voices that have vanished but have not entirely disappeared. Layers of colour, gesture and barely visible human traces suggest memory as something unstable: erased, rewritten and carried forward.

As the final work in the Post-Alienation cycle, The End of Echoes moves beyond the isolation of the individual figure. Alienation is transformed into collective remembrance, and disappearance begins to suggest the possibility of renewal.

Created with acrylic and watercolor on linen canvas, the painting combines figurative abstraction with expressive gesture and a monumental sense of scale. Grey and white fields are interrupted by intense red passages, allowing colour itself to function as a psychological and emotional structure.

At 160 × 200 cm, the work has an immersive, architectural presence. Alienation — The End of Echoes stands as both closure and rebirth within Mikava's Post-Alienation series — a meditation on identity, memory, erasure and what remains after the individual voice becomes an echo.
