The Gate (2026) Original Oil Painting by Neil McVicar

Standing at the boundary between the known world and the infinite, The Gate offers an invitation to step beyond the veil of everyday reality. Framed by thick, verdant foliage and stone, a iron-wrought portal opens not onto an ordinary path, but into a luminous realm of vibrant cobalt blues and shimmering, architectural gold—evoking both the legendary City of Gold and Jung’s magnum opus, the culmination of inner transformation and self-realization. Heavy, textural impasto brushwork builds a tactile bridge between our physical surroundings and this liminal space, capturing that quiet, breathless moment before stepping across a threshold into the transformative unknown.
