Large original abstract painting from the series "The Essence".
The Essence — a series of minimalist paintings that reduce painting to its core: paint applied directly by hand, a restrained palette (maroon, off-white, pink, orange), powerful gestures that probe space and movement. The Essence pursues radical reduction and foregrounds the pure, forceful presence of the mark. In this work, however, the process shifts subtly: while the same gestural, hand-applied language remains, the composition was developed on a pre-colored ground that later was only partially covered. Therefore it unfolds almost in reverse, revealing the underlying color as an pictorial element., creating a dynamic interplay between gesture, absence, and exposed surface.
