The Dreamer (2024) Original Oil Painting by Marco Ortolan

The work depicts a young girl resting her head on her arm. The figure appears to be in a state of rest or sleep. The brush work is expressive, with thick, dynamic strokes that add texture and depth to the composition. The color palette is relatively muted, with shades of gray, blue, and hints of red on the individual's cheeks, suggesting a flush of life amidst the cool tones. The background is somewhat abstract, allowing the focus to remain on the figure. There is a play of light and shadow that gives the painting a three-dimensional feel. The artist has signed the work in the lower right corner.
