The deepest sleep (2026) Original Oil Painting by Yana Vinitskaya

Recently, I came across a fascinating scientific discovery: dogs tend to sleep more deeply and peacefully when they are close to someone they deeply trust - their person. They can also spend more time in deep sleep when they feel safe and protected.

I found this especially touching when I thought about how naturally alert a dog’s nervous system is, always ready to notice movement, sounds, and potential danger.

The image of a dog finally letting its guard down, completely relaxed beside someone it trusts, became the inspiration for this special and deeply touching series of paintings.

For me, this painting is about trust, safety, and the quiet intimacy of simply being close to someone who makes you feel safe.

And, by the way, this painting found its home almost immediately
