The Cloud Capp’d Towers (2025) Original Oil Painting by Tim Smith

40 x 50 x 1cm (unframed) / 40 x 50cm (actual image size)

$529.86

The title comes from The Tempest, Act IV, Scene 1 — “Our revels now are ended.” It’s a line that reminds me how our time is brief, how everything we build and celebrate eventually fades. Yet, in that transience, there’s a strange beauty and strength.
This painting is part of my series exploring the image of a single tower or minaret rising from a destroyed city — a quiet symbol of hope, endurance, and renewal. Even when much is lost, something remains standing, holding a trace of what was.
Presented iwith clean canvas edges should you wish to display it unframed, the painting comes ready to hang with supplied wire.
