Alienation – The Red Frequency is a large-scale abstract figurative painting by Gela Mikava from the Post-Alienation series, exploring emotional overload, identity and the psychological presence of the human figure.

At the centre of the composition, a faceless figure emerges through intense fields of red, blue and green. Stripped of individual features, the body becomes less a portrait of a specific person than a psychological presence — an anonymous figure absorbing and transmitting the emotional intensity of its surroundings.

In The Red Frequency, colour functions almost like sound. Saturated red becomes a pulse or signal, while contrasting blue and green passages create a visual rhythm around the body. Feeling is transformed into colour, and colour into a kind of frequency.

Dripping paint, layered surfaces and unresolved boundaries between figure and background create a tension between vulnerability and strength. The body appears simultaneously present and unstable, as though its identity is being formed and dissolved within the same moment.

The work belongs to Mikava's Post-Alienation series, in which the human figure becomes a vehicle for exploring isolation, fragmented identity, emotional memory and the psychological consequences of contemporary existence.

At 100 × 120 cm, the painting has a substantial physical presence, combining figurative abstraction, expressive colour and gestural painting into an emotionally charged composition.
