Starrynight Flowers grew from looking closely at the flowers and skies in Vincent van Gogh's paintings and imagining them brought together within a single, invented scene. The work does not attempt to reproduce a particular Van Gogh composition; instead it uses that encounter as a starting point for its own field of flowers beneath a turbulent, star-filled sky. The edges are painted, so the work can be displayed without a frame.
