Sipapu (2025) Original Oil Painting by Eelke van Hoof

Intuitively I linked this painting to what the Hopi's call ‘Sipapu’. It's an emergence-point where they came out from underground into what they call the ‘fourh world’. According to their legend they came out of a previous world that had been destroyed. Will we get out into a new world if this one is going to be destroyed? This painting holds a promiss for me personally that it is possible to go from one iteration of life to step rejuvinated into the next one.

The painting is varnished, ready to hang and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. This painting will be packaged in a cardboard box with an inner casing for maximum protection.
