Original artwork description
Shadows That Stay is an atmospheric exploration of a dark forest where trees emerge through layers of shadow, light, and abstraction.
The tree stems shift between defined and blurred forms—some disappearing softly into the darkness, while others catch the light with subtle, almost luminous surfaces. Their changing presence creates a feeling of something remembered but never completely held: a moment, a feeling, or a memory that continues to linger.
The painting intentionally blurs the boundary between landscape and abstraction, allowing the forest to become an emotional space rather than simply a depiction of nature. The shadows suggest the quiet traces that certain experiences leave within us—sometimes distant and indistinct, yet still present.
Through layered marks, softened edges, contrasting textures, and moments of shine, the work invites the viewer to slow down and discover their own meaning within the forest.
