Original artwork description
I wanted to capture the romance of a canal-side city as evening approaches, with glowing lights and reflections guiding the scene. Vivid reds play against cool blue-grays, bringing energy to the old buildings and water. I used loose brushwork, simplified figures, and broken passages of color to suggest street life, while the receding railing draws the eye toward the distant lights.
