I have always loved painting the nude. For me, the female body is a moment of intimacy. It is not about style or sensuality, but about feminine energy. I never work from a photograph. I paint what I feel, not what I see.

I paint every watercolour in a single sitting, because that is what keeps it alive. I let water and pigment move freely, so the edges dissolve, colours bleed into one another and flecks of bare paper glow like light. I value emotion over polish, and I want my watercolours free of dry academic stiffness.
