Potsia in a Café (2026) Original Ink Drawing by Vasyl Koval

“Potsia in a Café” presents a lively interior scene drawn in expressive white lines against a deep black background. The composition captures the atmosphere of a small, intimate café, where shelves, tables, chairs, bottles, and other details merge into a dynamic network of shapes and textures. At the center of the scene, the figure of a cat adds a quiet but charming human-scale presence to the busy interior.

The strong contrast between black and white gives the drawing a graphic, almost cinematic quality. Rather than depicting the café with photographic precision, the work focuses on atmosphere, rhythm, and fleeting impressions. The energetic hatching and spontaneous lines make the space feel alive, as though the viewer has caught a brief moment while passing through.
