Pastel on Paper - This portrait study was inspired by the moment I saw this little girl, exhausted, starting to sleep in her grand-mother's arms... It reminded me of the words of a French Poet - Gerard de Nerval - about childhood and innocence. I added the words of the poem to illustrate the drawing.
