Painted en plein air from life, this vibrant study celebrates the fleeting warmth and beauty of blooming peonies, which I grew with care in my own garden.

To capture the freshness and immediacy of the moment, I combined acrylic paint with acrylic pastel on paper. The interplay between fluid brushmarks and the soft, dry strokes of pastel creates a delicate, airy atmosphere filled with natural daylight. Set in a bright yellow vase against a sun-drenched window, the lush coral and blush petals dialogue with dynamic green hatchings and expressive blue shadows, bringing a joyful, spontaneous feel to the space. Original mixed media on paper, signed on the front.
