Original artwork description
Painted on-site on the campus of Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. An autumn landscape with warm earth tones featuring a cluster of oak trees in shades of gold, brass, bronze, burgundy, and orange. The trees are set against a rich blue sky touched with rose, and deep green grass. The foliage has a feeling of lightness, as the wind dances through the leaves.
Painted in oil, with iridescent oil, over casein on board. Includes subtle running and dripping effects from the casein paint in the sky, and thick texture in the leaves from the use of palette knife. The matte casein paint also provides a contrast in texture with the oil paint in the foliage.
Framed in a 3" wide wood frame with a black crackle finish and antique gold inner and outer edges, which complement the colors in the painting. May be purchased unframed by request.
