My Cat Theodor. (2025) Etchings & engravings by Vaclav Iljasenko

I often can’t find my cat anywhere in the apartment. He loves hiding in boxes, closets, and even in the washing machine.

I created this print using the Tetra Pak printmaking technique. I really enjoy this contemporary method of printmaking. The result is very similar to drypoint, with expressive, delicate lines and rich textures.

Because of the nature of this technique, only a small number of impressions can be made from each plate — usually no more than 10–15 prints. This makes every edition very limited and special.
