Lilies II was inspired by the quiet elegance of white lilies and the way their forms change as the flowers open. I wanted to keep the composition simple and restrained, allowing the flowers themselves to become the main focus against a soft, neutral background.

The painting was developed slowly, with close attention to the structure of the petals, subtle shifts in white and warm gray, the freshness of the green leaves and the way light defines volume without making the image feel overly dramatic.

What makes this work special to me is the balance between precision and softness. The lilies are painted realistically, but the goal was not only to describe them accurately. I wanted to preserve a sense of calm, lightness and natural presence, allowing the flowers to feel vivid without losing their delicacy.
