Original artwork description
This original acrylic painting is inspired by the late-summer landscape around Dürnstein in the Wachau region of Austria.
Rather than depicting the scenery literally, I translate the landscape into broad colour fields, simplified forms and expressive lines.
Warm yellow, coral and pink areas suggest sunlit fields and vineyards, while deep blue and green sections introduce contrast and depth.
The composition captures the feeling of late summer in the Wachau — warm light, open landscape and the transition toward autumn.
The artwork is part of my Chromatic Austria series, in which I reinterpret Austrian landscapes and regional atmosphere through colour, abstraction and personal memory.
