A work from the "Landscapes" series. This forest represents my memories. I do not paint trees exactly as a camera or the human eye sees them; I paint them as they remain within me - split along the boundary of light and shadow, fragmented into planes that memory reassembles each time I return to them. It is somewhat reminiscent of mirror shards in a kaleidoscope. I love painting trees on large canvases, turning the composition into a kind of portal for meditation.
