Larchwood Giclée print by Edward Bawden

69 x 58cm (unframed)

$231.81

A path through a larch wood towards an occluded destination. This is an early painting by Bawden, and experimental: larch trees are conifers, with spiky needles. And when they grow in serrated rows, bunched up together, they can form shapes which look like tweed woven in a herringbone pattern. In order to achieve this Bawden has scraped the surface of the paper, so that the paper both depicts and contains the marks he makes.

This print is authorised for publication by the artist's Estate and has a seal of authenticity embossed onto the white paper margin. It is from a limited edition of 950 and is hand-numbered and hand-embossed. This print has a typed caption running along its paper border. The caption indicates permission and authorisation from the artist's Estate, and from the museum or gallery holding the work. The caption will be concealed by a mount when the print is framed.
