lake (2026) Original Oil Painting by franco orsi

This painting is an expressive and highly textured coastal landscape, capturing a dramatic view of a lake shoreline under an expansive sky.
The artwork features a vibrant shoreline in the foreground, filled with wild vegetation rendered in rich ochre, golden-yellow, and deep reddish-purple tones. Beyond the bank, the water is depicted with dynamic layers of teal, cobalt blue, and thick patches of white, evoking the movement of crashing waves or foam. The background is dominated by a sweeping, overcast sky filled with soft grey and white clouds, giving the scene a cool, atmospheric quality. The piece utilizes a heavy impasto technique, characterized by broad palette knife strokes and thick, gestural paint layers that bring a powerful sense of texture and motion to the landscape.
