A sensual and dreamlike figurative painting of a woman, moving through a mysterious blue night, waiting for the one she loves.
Surrounded by stars, flowers and a glowing red moon the woman appears almost as a figure from a dream.
The dark Prussian blue is built up in rich layers, with larger golden and metallic dots painted underneath that subtly shine through and catch the light. Her flowing, translucent dress gently reveals the figure beneath it, giving the painting an intimate and sensual quality without making the nude figure the sole focus.
The combination of strong colours, simple, almost naïve forms and fine drawn details creates a mysterious and playful night-time world. The deep blues and turquoise contrast with the intense red of the moon and touches of gold, giving the work a magical, atmospheric quality.
