Illusion (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Lina Kush

Each circle’s outline is fully controlled by hand, its form refined and repeated dozens of times. But the pattern inside emerges from the pressure of the sponge and resists control: the illusion is that the order here is only surface-deep, held together at the edge, while each circle carries its own unplanned structure within. Painted to meditative music, the grid creates a subtle optical vibration, the eye moving from circle to circle, drawn to the lighter spot at the center as if it were shifting.

Part of a practice where identity is built through the eye as a recurring motif: control exists only where you choose to hold onto it.
