Horangi (2026) Original Oil Painting by Marina Ogai

The artwork explores the nature of inner power, which is often inextricably linked to our heaviest states – hyper-responsibility, perfectionism, and underlying anxiety. This is that colossal energy that drives us forward, forcing us to carry the immense weight of expectations. It is generally accepted that this intimidating force must be fought, that we must build defenses and hide from our own fears. However, the concept of the piece suggests a different path: what if true harmony lies in a voluntary convergence with what seems destructive?

Transformation occurs in a moment of absolute vulnerability and radical honesty with oneself. When we drop our armor and dare to enter a quiet dialogue with our shadow, the overwhelming force shifts its polarity. The anxiety fades, and the ruthless inner critic turns into a steadfast protector. This is the point of profound trust where we claim our true self-worth – a state in which we can allow ourselves to stop fighting and finally find peace alongside our own power.
