Original artwork description
Hermes
40 × 50 cm
Oil on canvas
Framed
Part of a series of borzoi portraits exploring character, movement and emotional presence through animal imagery.
This painting focuses on a sense of lightness and quiet energy. The borzoi is portrayed not as a narrative symbol, but as a living presence — alert, elegant, and slightly distant, as if caught between stillness and motion.
Loose brushwork and a soft atmospheric background create a cinematic feeling, where form is suggested rather than fully defined. The emphasis is on mood rather than realism, allowing space for interpretation.
The series treats each dog as a unique character study, exploring individuality, temperament and inner state through colour, gesture and composition.
Framed and ready to hang.
