Gradlinig ist anders (2025) Original Drawing by Marita Tobner

Gradlinig ist anders

Mixed Media | Abstract Graphic Art

Straight lines are not always the most interesting way forward.

“Gradlinig ist anders” explores the beauty of unpredictability, spontaneity and creative freedom. Bold black shapes meet delicate, wandering lines, while expressive marks and intricate textures create a lively dialogue between structure and disorder.

The striking monochrome composition plays with contrasts: control and intuition, precision and imperfection, clarity and complexity. Lines cross, change direction and occasionally lose themselves, creating unexpected connections and visual tension.

Rather than following a predetermined path, the artwork celebrates the freedom to break away from rigid structures and discover new possibilities.

An expressive abstract piece that invites the viewer to embrace the unexpected and find beauty beyond the straight line.
