Gathering (2026) Original Ink Drawing by Vasyl Koval

Gathering captures a quiet, intimate moment of people coming together in an open urban or outdoor space. The scene is rendered in expressive white lines against a deep black background, creating a striking nocturnal atmosphere. Loose, spontaneous marks suggest figures, architecture, trees, and a winding path, allowing the image to feel more like a fleeting memory or impression than a precisely defined place.
The contrast between darkness and bright white strokes gives the work a sense of mystery and movement. The gathering itself remains deliberately understated, inviting the viewer to imagine the conversations, encounters, and small moments taking place within the scene. The simplicity of the composition emphasizes atmosphere, human presence, and the feeling of an evening shared with others.
