FIGURES-02 (2026) Original Drawing by Kalina Gotseva

FIGURES-02 is a unique monotype exploring the space between abstraction and the suggestion of the human figure. Against a deep Prussian blue field, translucent forms overlap and drift through the composition, creating movement, balance, and quiet interaction.

The shapes remain intentionally ambiguous, suggesting bodies, gestures, and silhouettes while dissolving into organic forms. Layers of pale cyan and indigo create changing densities where elements intersect, making transparency and negative space active parts of the composition.

Created through photosensitive chemistry and light exposure, the work develops through the interaction of light, material, and time. Variations in exposure and surface leave subtle traces that give each work its individual character.

FIGURES-02 is a one-of-one original cyanotype. No edition or identical duplicate exists. Signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
