Original artwork description
Tightly cropping an image tends to make the resulting painting dramatic and powerful. This is a perfect example. The close up allows you to concentrate on the colour interactions and shapes as well as the figurative impression. This is a theme for most of my work where I look for an interesting crop of a face or a part of a body and then use the image to place colours together.
